Our Story

Seven years ago, we embarked on developing a new Ohio vineyard in the Lake Erie region of Northern Ohio; our goal was to produce one of the most sought-after wines in Ohio. Brady Vineyards is located in southern Lorain County, just outside of Wellington, Ohio in Rochester Township and adjacent to the Huron County border.  Our 14-acre vineyard has approximately 8,000 vines and is home to our estate-grown Heron Creek wines, which are  made from grapes grown on our 140-acre family farm that we have lived on for 47 years.

We are proud to grow wine-making grapes in this historic winery region of the Great Lakes. Our products include: whole grapes, pressed grapes and juice, and direct production of our signature Heron Creek Wine. 

We have a commercial grape processing, bottling facility and winery that is 40 x 80 feet. Our large facility was designed to accommodate the equipment to process the grapes into juice and wine. The facility incorporates top of the line Marchisio equipment to produce high-quality products.

The grapes used to produce Heron Creek Wines are grown, processed, fermented and bottled, in a sustainable way. During this past growing season, we harvested 35,000 pounds of grapes by hand and are producing approximately 15,000 bottles of wine in our new Heron Creek Winery.

We produce eight different wines – from sweet to dry. We won 6 medals at the 2022 Ohio Wine Competition and had four wines certified as Ohio Quality Wine (OQW).

The winery is open to the public and we welcome guests to visit us and enjoy tastings, flights, wine by the glass or bottle at the Heron Creek Winery tasting room. We offer guests indoor seating, a comfortable outdoor patio and a gift shop that features decorative wine glasses, wine glass holders, bottle covers, gift bags, wine accessories, Heron Creek wine merchandise and more. You can also purchase our signature wine grape jelly, as well as gift certificates and custom gift baskets for any occasion.
